LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - A domestic dispute on Wednesday in Lee County ended with a woman and her car set on fire.

Lee County Sheriff's deputies says a married couple was driving down Lee Road 212 when they became involved in a dispute.

Deputies say that's when the 25-year-old suspect threw gas on the woman and ignited it.

Police say the woman was able to escape the car before it hit a ditch and caught on fire.

She suffered burns, but is expected to be OK. Police say the unidentified suspect is in custody on first-degree assault charges.
