Columbus Fire Department sets reward in 4th Ave. arson investigation

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Columbus Fire Department is announcing a reward for information regarding a house fire they believe was intentionally set. 

On Friday, Feb. 19, at 6:43 a.m, units of the Columbus Department of Fire and EMS responded to the report of a house fire.

That location was 2602 4th. Ave., in Columbus. Fire units found evidence of an intentionally set fire (ARSON) on the front porch of the residence.

The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported. An unknown person forced entry into an occupied structure with intent to do harm by setting the fire.

There were two occupants asleep at the time of the incident and the Department asks that if anyone has information regarding this incident please contact the Fire Prevention Division at 1-800-282-5804.

You may receive up to a $10,000 for providing information leading to the arrest and Conviction of Person(s) responsible for arson.
