It was a lesson on Japan for the young ladies at Girls Inc. in Columbus on Monday evening.

The Cultural Awareness Program was sponsored by Aflac and the Links Organization. The evening included Japanese games, as well as learning about Japanese customs and language.

As the number one life insurance company in Japan, Aflac leaders say it's also important that young people in the Valley understand the impact their hometown company has around the world.

“Aflac has a huge presence in Japan so for them to come and understand not only the culture of Aflac but to understand that a business right in their backyard has a huge presence In Japan,” said Audrey Tillman, Aflac General Counsel.
Young ladies participating in the program and the Girls Inc. Center on Kolb Avenue in Columbus, got to meet and interact with Japanese women from Aflac’s international team.

Columbus-based Aflac insures more than 40 million people in the United States and Japan.
