Suspect arrested in connection to Nov. 2015 deadly shooting

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Murder suspect, Demartre Harris, was located and captured in Columbus on Tuesday.

Around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday Squad 1 of the Robbery and Homicide Division and the Fugitive Squad of the Columbus Police Department executed a search warrant for Harris at 4924 Sentry Street.

Harris has been the subject of an extensive manhunt since he was identified as the suspect in the Murder of Marcus Bowden on Nov. 24, 2015 at 2900 Cusseta Rd.

During the search Anthony Marquis Seldon, 25, and Niagra Thomas,18, were also arrested and charged with hindering apprehension. Seldon was also charged with three counts of violation of probation.

Harris had several outstanding warrants prior to the murder and has been identified in several crimes since.

Harris is facing the following charges:

  • Murder
  • Three counts of aggravated assault
  • Three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Violation of probation (Felony)
  • Theft by taking (Felony)
  • Criminal trespass
  • Simple battery
