RUSSELL COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - As we get ready to wrap up Black History Month, one local school held a celebration on Friday.
Russell County Middle School hosted their celebration themed, "Walking on Hallowed Ground: A Time to Learn and a Time to Remember."
This year's celebration included singing, dancing poetry and monologues.
"Maintain a positive spirit. We all know misery loves company. Don't get bogged down with negative imagery. Always think in the affirmative. Be positive in all that you do," Lisa Goodwin said, the Deputy City Manager.
Lisa Goodwin of Columbus, GA, gave the keynote address.
