COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A philanthropist and Retired Executive of Aflac, George Jeter, died on Friday, Feb. 26 at the age of 80.
Jeter had a plethora of accomplishments while lending a hand to the community. He was an active member and chairman of the Columbus Regional Healthcare System, Inc., Ronald McDonald House of West Georgia, Columbus State University foundation, Rotary Club of Columbus and numerous other organizations.
Jeter's funeral service will be held on Monday, Feb. 29 at St. Paul United Methodist Church located at 2101 Wildwood Ave. at 1 p.m. Visitation will also be available at the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby on Sunday, Feb. 28 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
