OPD searching for suspects involved in 8 theft incidents

OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) – The Opelika Police Department is searching for the suspects involved in eight theft incidents throughout the city.

The unlawful breaking and entering along with vehicle and theft incidents happened between 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Monday, March 7. They all occurred in the parking lots of open businesses while customers were inside.

All of the cars had a window broken to gain entry and loose items inside the cars including purses, cell phones and firearms.

The incident occurred at the following locations:

  • Planet Fitness - 2500 Pepperell Parkway; five cars were broken into
  • Outback Steakhouse - 2115 Pepperell Parkway; one car was broken into
  • Longhorn Steakhouse - 2601 Gateway Drive; one car was broken into
  • Shoe Station - 2710 Enterprise Drive; one car was broken into

According to police, the suspects are only described as a tall, thin black male and white female with blonde hair. They may possibly be driving a 1998 maroon Buick Regal with an Alabama license plate.
