It's time for the Columbus Lions to get back to work.

The 2015 PIFL champs opened training camp Wednesday morning in preparation for the new season.
"I'm really excited,” said wide receiver Michael Reeve. “I've been looking forward to it since last season. Just ready to go. Can't wait."
"It's a fresh breath of new life,” said defensive tackle Leon Scott. “It's fun, exciting. Great program. Great club."

They may have won a title last season, but now they're in a new league, called the AIF. The talent on this team could keep them in the hunt once again.

"I feel like we have the best offense in the league, and that will make our defense better,” Reeve said. “I feel like we're going against the best defense in the league so that makes us better. Iron sharpens iron."
"Every year the team was better than it was the year before,” said head coach Jason Gibson. "With talent level, I'm not saying chemistry, but there's a lot of talent like always and they're just continuing to impress."

With a lot of starters returning, earning a spot on the team could be tough for the new faces.

"The coaches need to be huddling up saying 'did you see that? Did you see that guy?' If you're that guy, we're keeping you,” Gibson said. “But if you're just average Joe then you kind of write your own ticket."
The Lions have to cut down to 30 players by the time the season starts March 20 when they start their journey toward what they hope will be another championship season.
