COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The fourth Redeeming the Block project took place Tuesday.

The event was hosted by the House of Heroes-Chattahoochee Valley Chapter along with volunteers from area churches.

They honored local military veterans by going out and repairing several homes in the area. They also went to the home of Mrs. Gwendolyn Jackson, widow of Special Forces commander Donald Jackson to provide minor home repairs.

Mrs. Jackson says that she is so grateful, blessed and pleased as the repairs gave her more security in the home.

The event was sponsored by Headquarter Nissan.
