COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - While principals and teachers are usually the one dishing out the punishment, some may have thought students took over Hardaway High School on Wednesday.

The school’s principal actually volunteered to let his students duct tape him to the wall in the school cafeteria – all to help charity.

Hardaway High's principal, Matt Bell, says he thought it would be a great way to raise money for a good cause.

“So far this year we've raised over $2,000 and today students can purchase a strip of tape to tape their principal to the wall, all proceeds go to relay for life,” Hardaway High principal Matt Bell said.

Relay for life helps cancer survivors and funds research to find a cure for the disease.
