MERIWETHER COUNTY, GA (WTVM) -

Students in Meriwether County were recognized on Tuesday for a very special achievement.

Ninety-two students at Greenville High School were recognized for completing the YouScience Program.

The kids were presented with certificates for this pilot program in the state of Georgia and were selected by the governor’s office.

“We feel like this was a truer measure of what’s to come for them down the road,” said Tim Dixon, superintendent of Meriwether County Schools.

“YouScience brings together both the career program for that student and also work force development within the state of Georgia,” added Amy Bradley with YouScience.

The program was part of the Georgia Work Force Development Initiative.
