AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

The Auburn Police Department has arrested a second suspect in connection to a robbery on March 4. 

On Friday, March 25 the Auburn Police Division arrested 19-year-old Rashone K. Efford from Opelika on warrants charging him with first degree robbery and second degree assault. 

Efford is the second suspect charged and arrested as the result of an investigation by police into a robbery that occurred March 4 at a residence in the 400 block of N. Dean Road. 

Officers responded after the victim was assaulted and robbed by two individuals while playing basketball.  They took his cell phone, clothing items and U.S. currency with a total value of over $600. The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to EAMC emergency room for treatment and later released.

Efford turned himself in to police after being sought by detectives and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and is being held in the Lee County Jail on a $125,000 bond.

The Auburn Police Division also arrested 18-year-old Maurice B. Gay Jr. from Opelika on warrants charging him with Robbery First Degree and Assault Second Degree on Thursday, March 10.
