LANETT, AL (WTVM) - Two cooks at a small Lanett restaurant were arrested on Wednesday on drug charges - and one of the men was accused of selling meth there.

The Chambers County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at Biggies, located at 1st Street and N. 6th Avenue in Lanett, on Wednesday and arrested two of the restaurant's employees following a raid.

Police said that Clayton Roberts, a cook at Biggies, was found with meth at the restaurant. Another man, James Tolbert, was found at the restaurant with a small amount of marijuana. Tolbert was also a cook at Biggies. The two were arrested on drug charges.

Law enforcement says they were tipped off the drugs being allegedly sold at the small restaurant a few weeks ago. According to Chambers County Drug Task Force Commander Johnny Wood says information they received notified them of both marijuana and meth being sold at Biggies.

A controlled purchase was performed and the task force confirmed that meth was sold there, allegedly by Roberts.

Roberts was arrested on both meth possession and distribution charges. Tolbert was arrested on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges.

The owner of this restaurant was not involved in this crime, according to law enforcement.
