Matthew Becker’s RBI single was the difference as the Harris County Tigers topped the Columbus Blue Devils 4-3 in eight innings on Wednesday in Hamilton.
The Tigers took a 3-1 lead in the fourth inning on a two-run single by Tanner Maley. The Blue Devils tied it back up in the fifth, one run coming on a throwing error by pitcher Brett Griffin, the other on an RBI double by Trent Grantham.
Harris County (11-4, 7-2 in region) and Columbus (14-2, 7-2) are now tied for second place, one half game back of Northside (8-2, 13-4). The Patriots beat Carver 11-1 in five innings on Wednesday.
The Blue Devils host the rematch on Friday at 4:30 pm ET at Randy Jordan Field.
