Train derails in Opelika

Cleanup is underway after what witnesses are calling a miracle.

This after a Norfolk Southern Train Conductor and Engineer both survived a horrific train derailment with no injuries.

 It happened in Opelika about 150 yards East of the Royal City Crossing near South Uniroyal Road.

The derailment happened around 8:20 Friday morning.

The train was about 100 cars long with three engines and was not carrying any hazardous materials.

The cleanup is underway after 22 of the cars fell to the side off of the tracks.
