CPD searching for suspects in 3 separate armed robberies

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus Police Department Lt. John McMichael says they are looking for suspects in three different armed robberies - and they believe one of the suspects is connected to two of these crimes.

McMichael said that all three robberies happened between 10:30 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. on Saturday.

Robbery no. 1

The first armed robbery happened at Nick Food Mart, located at 5018 Hamilton Road around 10:30 a.m. Police said the suspect demanded money from and fired shots at the employee, but no one was injured.

The suspect was a light-skinned black male, who was wearing a white hoodie, gray sweatpants, and red bandana over his face.

There was another suspect, but there is no description for him.

Police said they suspects did get away with an undisclosed amount of money. Two customers in the store tried to chase the suspect down, but were unable to. Another man headed into a nearby Advanced Auto Parts saw what was happening and returned fire.

Robbery no. 2

The second armed robbery happened at the Econo Lodge, located at 4483 Victory Drive around 10:30 a.m. Police said two black males entered the lobby, and threatened the clerk with a gun for money.

One suspect was described to be 18 to 20 years old, 5'8" to 5'9", with a slim build and a bandana on his face. He was wearing a gray hoodie with "ECHO" on the front. The second suspect was wearing a red hoodie, athletic pants, and a bandana on his face - armed with gun.

The two suspects both left the hotel running toward the Benning Hills area.

Robbery no. 3.

The third armed robbery happened at the Budget Inn, located at 3170 Victory Drive around 12:50 p.m. One suspect, described as a black male in a gray hoodie with "ECHO" written on it, entered the hotel with a handgun and demanded money. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
