The Auburn Police Department has arrested an Auburn woman on burglary and theft charges.

On Friday, April 8, the Auburn Police Division arrested 19-year-old Rachel A. Adams on warrants charging her with two counts of third degree Burglary, second degree Theft of Property, two counts of third degree Theft of Property, and two counts of fourth degree Theft of Property.

The arrest is the result of an investigation by Auburn Police into reported residential burglaries that occurred on April 2 at two separate apartments in the 600 block of DeKalb Street.

According to the victims, someone unlawfully entered their residences while they were away and stole various electronic devices, a wallet containing U.S. currency and credit cards with a total value of over $4,000.

An investigation into the incident by Auburn Police resulted in Rachel Adams, who also resides in the area, being developed as a suspect.

Adams was captured on video surveillance using one of the victim’s stolen credit cards at a local business.  A subsequent search of her residence by detectives resulted in property being recovered that was stolen during the burglary.

Warrants were obtained for Adams’ arrest and she was taken into custody by police. Adams was transported to the Lee County Jail and will be eligible for a $13,000 bond.
