New finance director to be approved at Columbus City Council

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - City Manager Isaiah Hugley has selected the current Columbus Consolidated Government (CCG) Assistant Finance Director, Angelica Alexander to fill the position of the finance director.

The position was left vacant last year when Deputy City Manager Pam Hodge was promoted to her current position. Mayor Tomlinson and the city manager will go before the city council for approval on Tuesday, April 26. City Manager Isaiah Hugley will also recommend John Hudgison as the Permanent Inspections and Codes Director at city council.

Angelica Alexander has served as the city's assistant finance director since July 2015. She has been with the CCG Finance Department since 2008, where she served as senior accountant and budget/finance analyst.

After Alexander graduated Magna Cum Laude from Columbus State University in 2008 with a degree in accounting, she worked in several finance based positions. Some of these positions included Senior Reconciliation Operations Specialist at Synovus, Bookkeeper at National Business Services and Customer Service specialist at Aflac.
