(WTVM) – As if parents and students need a reminder, childcare and college are expensive.

A new report shows that it now costs more to educate a child younger than age five than it is to earn a college degree in Georgia.

According to a study published by the Economic Policy Institute, the average annual cost of infant care in Georgia is more than $7,500. This is $1,000 more a year than in-state tuition for a four year public university. Infant care takes up about 14 percent of a typical family's income.
