Lady Cougars finish season with sweep

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus State closed out the softball season in style on Tuesday night. The Lady Cougars beat Albany State in a pair of five inning games, 9-0 and 11-3 in non-conference contests at Cougar Field.

Columbus State finishes with a 27-26 record.

"It was great to close out the season on a high note," head coach Brad Huskisson said. "This season has had its ups and downs, but we swung the bats well tonight and were able to put a lot of runs on the board."

The Lady Cougars hit five home runs in the doubleheader, with Rachel Rhodes, Lee Anne Rees and Elizabeth Purdue going deep in the first game. Rhodes also homered in the second game, with Katie White adding an inside-the-park homer as well.
