AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - On Tuesday, April 19, 2016 the Auburn Police Division arrested Corey B. Heard, 34, from Auburn on a felony warrant charging him with unlawful breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.
The arrest is the result of an investigation into a report of an auto burglary that occurred on April 1, 2016 in the 100 Block of Lee Road 17.
The victim reported that someone unlawfully entered his vehicle, a 2006 Mercury Mountaineer, while it was parked at his residence and stole assorted change and a men's ring with a total value of over $300.
Responding officers were given the description of a suspicious male seen inside the vehicle. Within minutes of arriving officers located Heard in the area, matching the suspect description.
He was taken into custody at the scene on an unrelated charge. Further investigation resulted in him being identified as the individual responsible for unlawfully entering the victim's vehicle.
Detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest and Heard was subsequently located by police and taken into custody.
Heard was transported to the Lee County Jail and will be eligible for a $3,000 bond.
