COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – The Centers for Disease Control and prevention is learning more about the Zika virus and its effects on pregnant women.

Doctor Paula Walker King from Columbus State University stopped by News Leader 9 Morning to tell that researchers have recently learned that males can spread the virus through unprotected sex.

Symptoms of the Zika virus may include:

-Fever

-Rash

-Joint pain

-Conjunctivitis (red eye)

As of right now, there is no vaccine or medicine for Zika.
