LANETT, AL (WTVM) - The verdict is in for three men charged in the shooting death of a Lanett man in 2014.
Thomas Brent Starkey, 23, has been found guilty of murder. His brother Rocky Starkey, 18, and Paul Teague, 25, were found guilty of manslaughter.
Officials say Thomas Starkey shot and killed 27-year-old Christopher Griggs on April 9, 2014 at a home along 44th Avenue in Lanett.
Prosecutors say the motive appears to be a revenge killing for items the victim may have stolen from some of the suspects.
Meanwhile, two other defendants in the case have already plead guilty.
Jacob Shaddix, 18, was sentenced to 12 months for criminally negligent homicide, and Charlie Sigers was sentenced to 15 years for manslaughter.
