COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Columbus Police Department Motor Squad has made an arrest in the hit-and-run case that claimed the life of David Pollard.
William C. Cross, 19, was arrested Monday, May 2 and transported to the Muscogee County Jail.
He is charged with felony murder, theft by taking auto, and homicide by vehicle 1st degree felony. He is scheduled to appear in Recorder's Court on Thursday, May 5 at 9 a.m.
It is alleged that Cross stole an Audi, and was chased by police on the afternoon of April 18. Police said Cross then ran a red light on Buena Vista Road, crashing into a car driven by 36-year-old David Pollard, who was killed. Pollard was a special education teacher and baseball coach at Carver High School.
