PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) – Thursday, May 5 marks National Day of Prayer and a church in Phenix City hosted a time of prayer for the community.
Epworth United Methodist Church joined the nation to pray from noon until 1 p.m. This will mark the church's 65th annual National Day of Prayer.
The community gathered to also pray for the crime in the area as well as families.
"There is so much going on in this nation this year with elections. If you listen to the news you know what's going on. This is just so people will stand up for Christ," said Pam Shores with Epworth United Methodist Church.
Epworth United Methodist Church is located at Hwy 280 Bypass near Home Depot.
