AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

An Auburn woman has been arrested on sodomy and sexual abuse charges.

On Tuesday, May 3 the Auburn Police Division arrested 45-year-old Vaudie L. Gray on warrants charging her with second degree sodomy and second degree sexual abuse.

The arrest is the result of an investigation by Auburn Police into a report filed on Feb. 2 in reference to a sodomy and sexual abuse complaint at a residence on Foster Street.

Auburn Police and Lee County Department of Human Resources responded and initiated an investigation after being notified that a juvenile had been sexually abused at the residence.

As a result of the investigation Gray, who was known to the victim, was identified as being the individual responsible for sexually abusing the juvenile over a two year period.

Detectives obtained warrants for her arrest. She was taken into custody and arrested on the warrants after turning herself in to police.

Gray was incarcerated in the Lee County Jail and will be eligible for an $11,000 bond.
