COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Nearly 40 Americans die each day from overdosing on prescription painkillers, according to the Centers for Disease Control, who has declared it an epidemic.

It's prompted President Obama to propose $1.1 billion in new funding to help those with an opioid use disorder. We caught up with him at the National Prescription drug abuse and heroin summit, with 2,000 attendees in Atlanta.

But President Barack Obama has a plan, plus solutions from a father and law enforcement.
