Auburn residents camp out for new Krispy Kreme grand opening

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - The countdown and camp out is now over at the new Krispy Kreme location in Auburn, where the grand opening happened Tuesday, May 10 at 6 a.m.

Adam Brasher was the first customer at the new Krispy Kreme in Auburn.

He camped outside the store for four days and now he will receive a dozen doughnuts every week for a year.

Krispy Kreme Donuts was founded in 1937 in Winston-Salem, NC, and here's a fun fact: each Krispy Kreme glazed donut has 190 calories.

The 99 other customers behind him will also receive a dozen free doughnuts every month for a year.
