EUFAULA, AL (WTVM) -

Hundreds of people came together Thursday night to remember a man shot and killed in an east Alabama club over the weekend.

Family and friends of 22-year-old Devanta Davis held a vigil for him in his hometown of Georgetown, GA at the softball field near Quitman High School.

Davis was killed at the Jazzy Bones Club in Eufaula early Sunday morning

Attendees lit candles, sang, prayed and even released balloons.

Following the releasing of the balloons and the lighting of the candles, the victim's uncle Patrick Rivers Sr. gave a few words of thanks and encouragement.

“In order for us to take control of this, we have to collectively come together and put our resources and knowledge together about what we know, what we see and what we can do to help the cause,” Rivers said.

Sandarious Lewis, 20, of Phenix City is charged with murder in Davis' death.
