OZARK, AL (WTVM) -

The Chattahoochee Valley Pirates put on a big-time power display, ripping seven home runs to beat Calhoun 22-6 in the championship game at the ACCC Baseball Tournament at Eagle Stadium in Ozark.

With the win, the Pirates earn their third straight title and the trip to the JUCO World Series that goes with it.

Will Campbell led the way with two homers, a two-run shot in the first inning that got the Pirates (49-10) on the board, and a three-run homer that was part of an eight-run explosion in the fifth inning.

CVCC trailed Calhoun 5-4 going into the inning, but after Frank Wager tied the game with an RBI single, Jaylen Smith gave the Pirates the lead for good, snapping a 5-5 tie with a three-run homer. Nolan Greckel added an RBI single, then Campbell’s three-run blast gave CVCC a 12-5 lead.

In the sixth, Wager hit a solo homer and Carson Hughes hit a grand slam. In the seventh, Brandon Hill had a two-run homer while JT Thomas added a solo blast in the eighth.

The Pirates extended their winning streak to 17 straight, as they begin to shift focus to the Series.

They will open play versus the Eastern champion on Saturday, May 28 at Suplizio Field in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Last season, CVCC went 2-2 at the JUCO Series, winding up fourth in the nation.
