COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Even though it is May and football season is months away, the participants at Judge Not Inc's Flag football tournament were in midseason form, having fun and donating to a great cause.
Judge Not Inc. has been in operation for three years and helps children that grow up without parents.
"We started off as assisting them who have a missing parent due to incarceration, but we saw there was a need to help assist the children that have a parent missing all the way across the board," said Cleopatra Vaughn, the founder of Judge Not Inc.
In their three years of operation, Vaughn and her organization have helped mentor 15 kids that grew up without one or both of their parents. All of the money that funds Judge Not Inc. comes from community events similar to Sunday's flag football tournament.
The funds go to trips for the kids and other community events where the kids are involved.
"So whatever funds we gain today, we will put something together, I always let the kids tell me what they want to do," Vaughn said.
If you were unable to attend Sunday's tournament, Judge Not Inc. will be hosting many other events in the future. You can also help donate to their cause by clicking here.
