COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Muscogee County coroner has confirmed that 33-year-old Alcides Washington passed away early Wednesday morning following a shooting that took place in the 6700 block of Stone Creek Ct.

Alcides was shot in the head Tuesday evening and pronounced dead at Midtown Medical Center at 2:49 a.m. on Wednesday.

Columbus Police arrested and charged Timothy Edward Tarr with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

According to CPD, a murder warrant has now been issued against Tarr in Washington's death. He will make his first appearance in recorder's court on Friday, May 27 at 8 a.m.
