AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

The Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine recently helped one mama dog deliver not one, not two, but 19 bundles of joy.

Bailey, a four-year-old African Boerboel, delivered the largest litter of puppies ever born at Auburn University.

According to the university’s website, all but one of the puppies survived the April 28 caesarean delivery by a team of faculty veterinarians at the Wilford and Kate Bailey Small Animal Teaching Hospital.

The teaching hospital’s Theriogenology Service gave Bailey a transcervical insemination and provided medical assistance throughout her pregnancy.

Bailey’s puppies are all doing well with their owners, according to the veterinary college.

Guinness World Records state 24 puppies born in 2004 is currently the largest litter ever.
