COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Ann Hardman thanked her fans Saturday morning after becoming the newly elected Muscogee County Superior Court Clerk in a landslide win.
Hardman and her team held up thank-you signs along Macon Road.
She beat out longtime incumbent Linda Pierce on Tuesday night in a 60 to 40 percent win.
We talked with Hardman on Saturday about her plans for the new job.
"The first thing I want to do is get with the people, and us form what I call a team," Hardman said. "You know I can dictate but I don't like dictatorship, I like more teamwork, modernizing that facility."
Hardman says running for office was a "calling," and she decided to run for office in the last days of qualifying in March.
She is the first African American to be elected to serve as Superior Court Clerk of Muscogee County.
