COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A suspect we featured on "The Area's Most Wanted" last year is still on the loose and committing more crimes in the local area.

News Leader 9’s Semone Doughton brings us up- to-date on this suspect who police say is a serial armed robber.

It was just last year when this suspect was wanted for car hijacking in Columbus. Today, this same suspect is wanted for many more crimes in the local area.

"We're looking for the same suspect. We do have a picture of what witnesses say he looked like," said Officer Paul Moody with the Columbus Police Department.

Officer Moody says since this suspect, whose name may be Jacob, has been very busy committing more crimes in the local area since he was featured on Most Wanted last year for robbing a Medical Center employee at gunpoint in the parking lot of the hospital.

Officer Moody says this serial armed robber has been linked to crimes in the East Highland area of Columbus, which includes armed robberies and car thefts.

He's described as being between 6 feet tall and 6’2” tall and weighing 180 pounds with a front gold tooth.

Police say he is armed with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol with the finish worn off at the muzzle.

"On the November photo he had pot marks or acne scars on his face but he's very dangerous, a very dangerous individual," Officer Moody said.

Police believe he may have shaved off his beard by now and spruced up his appearance to hide his identity.

"He does not wear a mask, he's been described as a clean cut small afro, he does take care of his hair," Officer Moody said.

Take a good look at this suspect. If you recognize this person you are urged to call Columbus Police at (706) 653-3400.
