The Chattahoochee Valley Pirates used a high-powered hitting attack to beat the San Jacinto Gators 13-3 in seven innings on Thursday night to advance to the final three at the Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado.
The Pirates erupted for seven runs in the second inning. The first two scored on a throwing error on a Jayson Cook grounder. Nolan Greckel followed with a two-run single. Will Campbell capped the inning with a three-run homer.
Campbell later added an RBI triple, while A.J Willoughby had a two-run homer.
Chase Burks went the distance for the win, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out five while walking three.
