COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - If you visit Columbus' Soft Drink Heritage Trail you may notice something a little different.
Organizers with Historic Columbus hosted a historic marker dedication along the trail today.
Remarks from WC Bradley Company representatives were given during Friday's ceremony along with the history of sodas in the Fountain City.
Callie Hecht with Historic Columbus says this is an important reminder for people to know where the founder of Coca-Cola first started the famous soft drink.
"We are always fighting with Atlanta that Coke was founded here. Dr. Pemberton did start Coca-Cola as a French wine of coca here in Columbus," Hecht said.
The markers include new photos and allows access to more information on each site by using QR codes.
