COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - More allegations surfaced in court Friday in the trial for a Columbus couple accused of fraudulently filing more than 2,000 tax returns that produced $2 million in refunds.
Demita Florence testified Friday that she had her taxes done at Tax Time on Macon Road owned by Ken and Lakeisha Degourville.
Florence said Lakeisha prepared her taxes in 2012 adding that she learned after they were submitted that a fake home health care business was added to her return.
Florence also said she knew the Degourvilles through family and friends and trusted that her taxes would be prepared correctly.
This trial resumes Monday morning.
