COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - We have a new Miss USA, who will represent the United States in the Miss Universe 2016 competition, and she has ties to the Fountain City!
This year's winner is 26-year-old Deshauna Barber, a Washington D.C. Army officer.
She commissioned as a Quartermaster Officer in 2011 and is currently a Logistics Commander for the 988th Quartermaster Detachment Unit at Fort Meade, MD.
Barber was born in Columbus, GA while her father was stationed at Fort Benning.
Miss Georgia Emonii Davis took second runner up, and Miss Alabama Peyton Brown, a Eufaula native, made it to the Top 5.
