COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Tens of thousands of treatments at the John B. Amos Cancer Center in Columbus helps those fighting for their health make progress.
Now, a big check from an annual event will help the center in its mission.
Columbus Regional Health revealed a large check on Tuesday for more than $166,000.
The money comes from April events from the annual Celebrity Classic, marking over two decades of fundraising.
Representatives with the hospital say their donations can have a big impact.
"Every year we're able to purchase medical equipment, software, things that really enhance the patients and programs there at John B. Amos," Merideth Campbell said with Columbus Regional.
The center is continuing to practice their motto "cancer doesn't care, but we do" and representatives say the check will go a long way.
