West Point man accused of assaulting an officer with a brick

WEST POINT, GA (WTVM) – A West Point man is behind bars after he is accused of assaulting a police officer with a brick.

Tabious Heard’s charges stem from an incident which happened on April 28 when officers responded to a domestic dispute complaint.

When an officer entered the 1200 block of East 13th Street he was allegedly assaulted by Heard with a brick while he was still seated in his patrol vehicle.

The officer was treated at George Lanier Hospital and released.

Tabious Heard turned himself in to the West Point Police Department on charges of aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer and obstruction or hindering a law enforcement officer.

Heard was arrested without incident and taken to the Troup County Jail.
