PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - A new resource for pregnant women in the valley debuted Tuesday as Sound Choices Medical Clinic held a ribbon cutting ceremony for their new mobile ultrasound unit.
Under a staff of doctors and nurses, women and teens are able to visit Sound Choices and receive free, top-quality care during a time of pregnancy crisis.
The mobile unit is fully operational on wheels for women who don't have transportation.
It's absolutely free, and all they have to do is provide a photo ID.
"We serve women who are in a crisis pregnancy so we offer free ultrasounds, free pregnancy tests of free peer counseling so we're able to provide free services to women who are just getting started with their prenatal care and we're able to refer them to physicians," said Shanon Caffey, mobile operations manager.
The clinic currently operates in Phenix City at the Central Baptist Church and will be servicing different communities soon.
