COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Today the Georgia-Alabama Bass Club presented the Valley Rescue Mission with a check to help some kids attend camp.

This year the club has raised about $2,000 to sponsor 40 inner city boys and girls for camp this summer.

Camp Joy has about 400 children registered for camp.

“There are so many kids out there who don't feel that they're significant and with camp joy we get an opportunity to bring those kids in, love on them, show them fun times and let them know that the lord finds them so significant and see their worth, Emily Mclendon said, Camp Joy administrator.

The Georgia-Alabama Bass Club has been raising money for Camp Joy since 1974.
