COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Kids enjoyed more than a dozen safety stations teaching them how to play it safe while riding a bike or at home.
Some kids walked away with a free bikes, car seats, helmets and reflectors. Parents also got the chance to get their car seats properly locked in the backseat of their cars.
"They are having all sorts of different areas of safety for kids. Our special expertise will be
with homes...cabinets have been locked, door knobs being screwed tight, those tiny things help at the long term," said Daniel Mkitchen, a participant in the event.
WTVM is happy to announce Safe Kids of Columbus as its next Give 9 Winner.
News Leader 9's Barbara Gauthier and Headquarter Nissan workers presented the $2,500 check to the nonprofit.
We also had a booth showing kids about TV tip over safety.
