FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) – A promotion ceremony was held at Fort Benning on Monday.
Brigadier General Eric Wesley was the commanding general of the Maneuver Center of Excellence, and he's now the major general as of Monday afternoon.
During the ceremony, Major General Wesley reflected on the mentors, family and friends which he says have shaped him into the soldier he is today.
"People and their relationships are indispensable and important. My hope with this ceremony today is that we get on our relationships and honor who we are as an institution and honor the people who serve under us," said Maj. Gen. Eric Wesley.
Major General Wesley assumed command at Fort Benning on March 18. He was commissioned as an Army officer in 1986.
