COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Local school-aged boys got a real dose of courthouse activities – in a good way, of course.
It's all part of Law Day 4 Boys, and the group met at the Government Center on Wednesday.
They toured several areas of the building from the State and Superior Court to the judge's chambers and even the mayor's office.
After the tour, the boys were able to participate in a mock trial and panel discussion.
Attorney Teddy Reese spoke about what the boys experienced during the tour.
"They have really enjoyed it," Reese said. "They got to see the holding cells, the sheriff's department and the monitors and the videos. It's really eye-opening. More importantly it's opening their minds to things they would not see on a normal basis."
This is the third year for Law Day 4 Boys. Organizers are hoping to continue this annual event.
The annual Law Day for Girls also took place earlier this month.
