Auburn woman arrested for identity theft

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - On Wednesday, June 22, the Auburn Police Division arrested Lauren M. Batchelor, 30, from Auburn on felony warrants charging her with identity theft and fraudulent use of a credit card.

The arrest is the result of an investigation by Auburn Police into a report of fraudulent use of a credit card made on Jan. 20, 2016.

The victim reported that someone illegally obtained her personal and credit card information and used it to make an online purchase for over $6,000.

Batchelor was employed at a local business where the victim had previously used her credit card. 

Detectives obtained warrants for her arrest charging her with identity theft and fraudulent use of a credit card. She was then located and taken into custody.

Batchelor was transported to the Lee County Jail and will be eligible for a $5,500 bond.
