COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Bargain shopping for a cause is what hundreds of people were doing early Saturday morning.
The Ladies' Auxiliary of Columbus hosted their 9th annual yard sale at St. Anne's Catholic Church.
"The proceeds go to a rising eighth grade girl student so that we can promote religious education and a scholarship to St. Anne's Church," said Evelyn Braman.
The yard sale raised over $2,000 and all of that money goes towards help young girls through religious education. The yard sale is made possible through lots of support throughout the community.
"Well it comes from very generous people who donate to us. Not only our parishioners but also people within the community. And we have been very fortunate they have been very generous," Betty Burns, co-leader of the Ladies Auxiliary Yard Sale.
All of the leftover items that were not purchased during the yard sale will be then donated to Vapor Thrift Store.
