Suspect in Double Churches Park murder moved to Harris Co. Jail

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – One of the two detained suspects in the June murder of a Jonesboro, GA man has been moved to a neighboring county’s jail, according to the Columbus Police Department.

A'kevius Powell, 21, was moved to Harris County Jail from the Muscgoee County Jail after being assaulted by inmates following his arrest on June 20.

Powell, Jacquawn Clark and Derain Waller are all accused in the June 15 shooting death of 24-year-old Demonde Dicks Jr.

Clark is still being held at the Muscogee County Jail. Both Powell and Clark pled not guilty to the charges in their first court appearances.
