A Fort Benning soldier accused of downloading nearly 50,000 files of child pornography appeared before judge Tuesday for the first time since he was arrested over the Weekend.
Christopher Delgesso plead "not guilty" to five counts of felony exploitation of children.
A search warrant indicated that child pornography was being downloaded by an IP address connected to Delgesso's home.
Investigators also say Delgesso admitted to having child pornography on several hard drives and other devices before he was arrested.
"I asked Mr. Delgesso how many times or how many files he thought he had downloaded and he said too many to count. I said thousands?
He said more than that," Columbus Detective Donald Kraus said.
Delgesso is married with two kids.
His children are being interviewed and examined for signs of abuse by Children's Treehouse Agency.
Delgesso was given a bond totaling $125,000 for his five felony counts.
His case was bound over to Superior Court.
